Abstract

The development of science and technology is increasingly advanced in various fields including the health sector, this is used to improve more optimal health services. In the problem faced, this research aims to design and build an expert system that can diagnose dental and oral diseases using the forward chaining method and development method using waterfall. Data was collected through interviews with the expert and owner of Flower Dental Care, namely Drg. Karinanda, to obtain symptoms of dental and oral diseases. This expert system was built using the PHP programming language, CodeIgniter framework, and MySQL database. Evaluation results based on Black box testing show that the 9 features of this system run well, are efficient and run 100%. Thus, this expert system is able to provide a positive and adequate user experience in carrying out its functions.
