Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to design and build an effective bat repellent using the ultrasonic sound wave method. This tool is designed by integrating an ESP32 microcontroller, PIR sensor, and ultrasonic transducer. The waterfall method is applied in the system development process, including the requirements analysis, system design, implementation and testing phases. In the requirements analysis phase, the technical and functional requirements of the tool are identified, followed by system design which includes component selection and circuit design. The implementation is carried out by integrating the ESP32 as the brain of the system, a PIR sensor to detect the presence of bats, and an ultrasonic transducer to produce high frequency sound waves that are inaudible to humans but disturb the bats. Black box testing is carried out to ensure that the tool functions according to the specified specifications, namely being able to detect bats and emit ultrasonic sounds effectively. The system still cannot be said to be perfect because there are several limitations to the sensor distance which can only cover a distance of up to 3 meters.
