Abstract
Asmiati, 2024. Cultivating the Character of Love for the Motherland Through Civics Learning in Class VII Students of SMPN 1 Jiwan for the 2023/2024 Academic Year. Thesis. Pancasila and Citizenship Education Study Program, FKIP, PGRI Madiun University. Pembimbing (I) Dra. Nuswantari, M.H, (II) Drs. Teja Insyaf Sukaryadi, M.Pd. Love for one's country is one of the characteristics of a nation that shows pride in a country. PPKn learning can build a sense of love for the country, forming character that is in accordance with the concept of citizenship. The aim of this research is to study and instill the character of patriotism in class VII students of SMPN 1 Jiwan for the 2023/2024 academic year. Researchers conducted field studies using qualitative techniques. Researchers conduct their research through data collection processes such as interviews, observation, and documentation. Love for one's country is one of the characteristics of a nation that shows pride in a country. Civics learning can build a person's sense of love for their homeland, forming character that is in accordance with the concept of citizenship. The results of the research show that in Class VII of SMPN 1 Jiwan for the 2023/2024 academic year, efforts to instill the character of love for the country through PPKn learning include discipline, courage, honesty and responsibility, while the challenges in cultivating the character of love for the country cause some students to pay less attention to teacher guidance. . The way to overcome obstacles in developing the character of patriotism is through familiarity and constant supervision by researchers.
