Abstract

The problems found in SDN 01 Demangan, there are problems in the use of learning media that are less interesting and less varied. During the learning process, the media used is power point. However, the power point used is not equipped with animation, so students are less interested and have difficulty in understanding the material presented. Digital comic media has become very important in education and the teaching and learning process. Digital comics are very important in education because they can increase interest in learning, storytelling skills, literacy skills, technology use skills, creativity skills, interactive skills, and student accessibility skills. Therefore, concern for the environment needs to be instilled from an early age. Environmental care characters must be taught in elementary schools, one of which is through Science Learning. Based on the problems that have been explained, the objectives of the study are: (1) Analyze the need for digital comics to gain an understanding of science learning for grade V elementary school students. (2) Determine the feasibility of digital comics to gain an understanding of science learning for grade V elementary school students. The development research model used in this study is Analyzer, Derive, Derverlop, Implementer, and Evaluation (ADDIEr). This model represents the practice of instructional development design where the purpose of this model is to help researchers learn, understand, analyze, and improve practices in development research. Based on the research that has been conducted, the following results were found: (1) This development research was conducted to assess the Digital Comic Model Using the Hipaint Application to Help Improve Literacy in the Science Subject of Grade V Elementary Schools in terms of product feasibility and practicality. (2) The development research produced a development product in the form of Merdia Digital Comics Using the Hipaint Urnturk Application to Help Improve Literacy in the Science Subject of Grade V Elementary Schools which is categorized as suitable for use in elementary school students.
