Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe and explain the planning of the synthetic analytical structural method with natural photo media in the early reading of grade 1 students of Kayen State Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency, (2) describe and explain the implementation of the synthetic analytical structural method with natural photo media in the early reading of grade 1 students of Kayen State Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency, and (3) describe and explain the evaluation of the implementation of the synthetic analytical structural method with natural photo media in the early reading of grade 1 students of Kayen State Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study are through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are (1) the learning planning of the synthetic analytical structural method with natural photo media in the early reading of grade 1 students of Kayen State Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency, has used a complete syllabus and lesson plan made by the teacher. The teacher prepares appropriate materials, then prepares media, tools and materials, prepares work steps, student worksheets to measure the extent of understanding in learning, (2) implementation of learning using the synthetic analytical structural method with natural photo media in early reading for grade 1 students of Kayen State Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency, has three stages of activities, namely preliminary activities, core activities using the SAS (Synthetic Analytical Structural) method with natural photo media in learning, and closing activities, and (3) evaluation of learning using the synthetic analytical structural method with natural photo media in early reading for grade 1 students of Kayen State Elementary School, Bandarkedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency, using two stages including: 1) Written tests (result tests) in the form of questions, short answers and working on questions, namely essays or subjective with limited essay tests and objective forms, namely with matching types, 2) Non-tests (process tests) are selected from students' attitudes during the learning process
