Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and magnitude of improvement of the 4-model Circuit Training Plyometric (CTP) training method on explosive leg muscle power in MA Al Mukarom volleyball athletes, Ponorogo Regency. The main problem underlying this research is the low vertical jump ability of athletes, which is still below the standard for district-level student players due to an unstructured training program that does not emphasize explosiveness. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method through a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 20 male athletes selected through a purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument used a vertical jump test whose results were then converted into power units (Joules) to obtain a more in-depth picture of power accuracy. Data analysis techniques included the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's Test homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed a significant increase in the experimental group with the average jump height increasing from 39.60 cm to 42.10 cm (an increase of 6.31%). In power units, there was an increase from 408,71 Joules to 426,70 Joules (an increase of 4.40%). Statistically, a significance value of 0.010 (<0.05) was obtained in the experimental group, so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In contrast, the control group did not show a significant change. The conclusion of this study is that the Circuit Training Plyometric (CTP) training method, using four models, is effective and significantly influences the explosive power of the leg muscles of volleyball athletes at MA Al Mukarom, Ponorogo Regency. Keywords: Circuit Training Plyometric, Explosive Power, Leg Muscles, Volleyball.
