Abstract
This study aimed to determine the effect of the Three-Model Circuit Training Plyometric (CTP) program on improving the lower limb muscle power of Kusuma Bhirawa Ponorogo volleyball players and to identify the magnitude of improvement. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of 20 male volleyball players aged 16–18 years, selected using total sampling and divided into an experimental group and a control group (10 players each) using a pairing matching design. The vertical jump test, converted into Watts, was used as the research instrument. Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, Paired Sample t-Test, and Independent Sample t-Test with SPSS assistance. The results showed that the CTP 3-model program had a significant effect on improving lower limb muscle power. In the experimental group, the average power increased from 376.50 Watts to 408.80 Watts, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and an average increase of 32.30 Watts (8.5%). In contrast, the control group showed no significant improvement, with a significance value of 0.293 (p > 0.05). The Independent Sample t-Test confirmed that the initial conditions of both groups were equivalent (Sig. 0.458), but the effectiveness difference lies in the significant gain experienced by the experimental group. It is concluded that the CTP 3-model program is effective in increasing leg power and is recommended as an alternative training method for coaches to optimize athletes' explosive power. Keywords: Circuit training plyometric (CTP), lower limb muscle power, volleyball, vertical jump.
