Improving Poetry Writing Skills Using the Hands-On Learning Method Assisted by Video Media for Fifth Grade Students of Krowe 4 Elementary School, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency. Theses. Keywords: writing, poetry, hands-on learning methods, and video media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of the hands-on learning method assisted by video media can improve poetry writing skills in class V students of Krowe 4 Elementary School, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of class V students of Krowe 4 Elementary School, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency in learning to write poetry using the hands-on learning method assisted by video media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) the application of the hands-on learning method assisted by video media can improve poetry writing skills in class V students of Krowe 4 Elementary School, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency, there is an increase. This is evidenced by the results of student observations in cycle I, namely 97% of students present during the learning process; 86% of students paying attention to the teacher's explanation; 38% of students actively asking questions and giving opinions; 54% of students being able to work together with their group members; 54% of students being responsible in doing assignments; 70% of students being able to compose poems; 70% of students completing assignments on time; Students are able to make conclusions on what has been learned by 54%; and Students who do other activities during the learning process (noisy, playing, disturbing friends, going in and out of the class) by 10.6%. The results of student observations in cycle II are that students who are present during the learning process are 100%; Students who pay attention to the teacher's explanation are 98%; Students actively ask questions and express opinions by 75%; Students are able to work together with their group members by 90%; Students are responsible for doing assignments by 90%; Students are able to compose poetry by 90%; Students complete assignments on time by 98%; Students are able to make conclusions on what has been learned by 90%; Students who read the results of poetry in front of the class by 88%; and Students who do other activities during the learning process (noisy, playing, disturbing friends, going in and out of the class) by 2.3%, and (2) the learning outcomes of Class V students of Krowe 4 Elementary School, Lembeyan District, Magetan Regency in learning to write poetry using the Hands-on learning method assisted by video media have increased. This is proven by the average score of student learning outcomes in cycle I of 66. In cycle II, the average score of student learning outcomes increased to 95.
