Abstract
This research is motivated by the low listening and speaking skills of fourthgrade elementary students, caused by monotonous teaching methods and the lack of contextual and engaging digital media. Students tend to be passive during listening activities and lack confidence when expressing their ideas orally. The digital literacy strategy based on Trenggalek folklore is expected to provide a meaningful learning experience by utilizing local cultural content close to students' lives through interactive digital media. The objectives of this study are to describe the implementation of the digital literacy strategy based on Trenggalek folklore and to analyze its impact on improving students' listening and speaking skills. This study employs a qualitative approach with a classroom action research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. The subjects were fourth-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Botoputih. Data were collected through observation, interviews, listening and speaking performance tests, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative techniques with the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings indicate that the implementation of the digital literacy strategy based on Trenggalek folklore significantly improves students' listening and speaking skills. In listening, students become better at grasping main information, understanding moral messages, and identifying story elements. In speaking, students demonstrate improved fluency, confidence, accuracy of intonation, and the ability to retell the story coherently. In addition, students show high enthusiasm as the material is delivered through animated videos and audio folklore presented in digital formats. In conclusion, the digital literacy strategy based on Trenggalek folklore is effective in improving listening and speaking skills and in fostering a love for local culture among fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Botoputih.
