Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has swept Indonesia since early 2020 has caused a number of listed companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) to suspend or reduce dividend payments due to liquidity pressures and economic uncertainty. This study aims to examine the effect of capital structure on dividend policy, with managerial ownership as a moderating variable, in non-financial companies listed on the IDX for the 2020–2024 period. This study employs a quantitative approach. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 75 companies with a 5-year observation period (375 observations). Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression with a Random Effects Model via Moderated Regression Analysis using Stata 17. The results indicate that capital structure does not have a significant effect on dividend policy, and managerial ownership was not found to moderate the effect of capital structure on dividend policy; thus, both research hypotheses were rejected.
