Abstract
Conventional instruction remains teacher-centered, relying solely on student worksheets (LKS) as teaching materials and the whiteboard as the primary medium; this often results in students lacking a structured approach to problemsolving. Furthermore, suboptimal use of educational technology contributes to low mathematical literacy among students. Therefore, there is a need for innovative learning media capable of enhancing mathematical literacy through meaningful learning. This study aims to develop deep learning-based Scratch learning media that is valid, practical, and effective in improving the mathematical literacy of Grade VIII students at MTsN 3 Madiun regarding the topic of statistics. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. Class VIII A served as the experimental group, while Class VIII B served as the control group. Instruments used included validation sheets for subject matter and media experts, student response questionnaires, and pre-test and post-test questions. Data analysis involved assessing validity, practicality, and effectiveness through prerequisite tests, one-sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed material validity of 82.36% and media validity of 84.56%. Media practicality scores were 75.42% in the limited trial and 77.34% in the field trial. Effectiveness testing comprising one-sample, independent sample, and paired sample t-tests yielded p-values of 0.000 (<0.05) for each, alongside an N-Gain score of 58.60%. Thus, the deep learning-based Scratch learning media is deemed valid, practical, and effective for improving the mathematical literacy of Grade VIII students at MTsN 3 Madiun in the subject of statistics. In line with this, it is hoped that future research will produce similar media capable of enhancing mathematical literacy.
