Abstract
Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) and pomelo peels (Citrus maxima) are natural materials known to possess antioxidant activity, but studies on their combinations at various ratios remain limited. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of the crude drugs (simplisia), extraction yields, and antioxidant activity of combinations of moringa leaf extract and pomelo peel extract at various ratios and fractions using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1picrylhydrazyl) method. Simplisia characteristics were assessed via organoleptic examination and moisture content determination, followed by extraction using the Soxhlet method with ethanol as the solvent. Crude extracts were fractionated using n-hexane and ethyl acetate, then their antioxidant activities were tested for five combination ratios of moringa to pomelo peel: 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75, and 0:100.
