Abstract
This research is motivated by the persistent finding of language errors in digital communication media, such as podcasts. The language used in podcasts tends to be spontaneous and informal, potentially leading to deviations from proper Indonesian language rules. This study aims to identify and describe the forms of language errors at the level of diction and language structure (syntax) in the podcast "Lagu Jiwa yang Bersedih: Confessions of Ghea at Her Lowest Point" broadcast on the Gritte Buka Praktik YouTube channel. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. The data consisted of spoken language utterances contained in the podcast. Data collection was conducted through listening and note-taking techniques, while data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, identification, classification, explanation, and correction of language errors based on the theory of language error analysis proposed by Henry Guntur Tarigan. The results showed 66 language errors, consisting of 60 diction errors and 6 syntactic errors. Diction errors included the use of non-standard words (19) and the use of foreign language or code-mixing (41). Syntactic errors included the use of ineffective sentences due to word repetition (4) and the overuse of conjunctions (2). The emergence of these errors was influenced by the habit of using informal language, spontaneous language use, and the influence of the environment and digital media. Therefore, it can be concluded that the language used in the podcast still exhibits various deviations from good and correct Indonesian language rules, particularly in aspects of word choice and sentence structure.
