Abstract
This study aims to describe the planning, implementation, as well as the obstacles and solutions in utilizing inspirational local figure podcasts as learning media for biographical texts in fifth-grade students of SDN Gayam 1, Kendal District, Ngawi Regency, Academic Year 2025/2026. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects were the fifth-grade teacher and 13 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the planning of podcast utilization was systematically arranged and aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum, as reflected in the teaching modules and the selection of contextual podcast media appropriate to elementary school students’ characteristics. The implementation of learning showed that the use of inspirational local figure podcasts increased students’ learning interest, listening skills, and understanding of biographical texts. Students were also able to identify exemplary values from the figures presented in the podcasts. The obstacles encountered included limited audio facilities and differences in students’ listening abilities; however, these obstacles were addressed through classroom management, replaying the podcasts, and teacher guidance. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the utilization of inspirational local figure podcasts as learning media for biographical texts contributes positively to improving the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools and can serve as an innovative and contextual learning medium.
