Keywords: speaking, methods, examples, non-examples and poster media This study aims to describe (1) the application of the example-non-example learning method assisted by placard media can improve the speaking skills of class III students of Wengkal State Elementary School, Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of class III students of Wengkal State Elementary School, Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency in speaking learning using the example-non-example learning method assisted by placard media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) the application of the example-non-example learning method assisted by placard media can improve the speaking skills of class III students of Wengkal State Elementary School, Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency. This is evidenced by the teacher's activity during learning in cycle I, meeting 1, obtained a percentage of 83.33%, then at meeting 2, an increase of 91.67%. Teacher activity during learning in cycle II, meeting 1, obtained a percentage of 100% and at meeting 2, obtained a percentage of 100%. Student learning activities during learning in cycle I, meeting 1, obtained a percentage of 66.66%, then at meeting 2, increased of 91.67%. Student learning activities during learning in cycle II, meeting 1, obtained a percentage of 91.67% and in meeting 2, obtained a percentage of 100%, and (2) the learning outcomes of third-grade students of Wengkal State Elementary School, Rejoso District, Nganjuk Regency in speaking learning using the example-non-example learning method assisted by placard media are known that the completion results in the pre-cycle are 20%, the completion in the example model in cycle I is 58.33% and has increased in cycle II by 87.5% and success has reached ≥ 85%. The completion in the example-non-example learning method assisted by placard media in cycle I is 33.33% and has increased in cycle II by 83.33%.
