ABSTRACT Anik Nurfaida. 2025. Improving Fine Motor Skills and Self-Confidence through Finger Painting Play in Group A Children of TK Al Hidayah Pangongangan, Madiun City. Thesis. Madiun: Master’s Program of Social Science Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (1) Dr. Nurhadji Nugraha, S.Pd., M.M., (2) Dr. H. M. Rifai, M.Pd.I. Keywords: Fine Motor Skills, Self-Confidence, Finger Painting, Early Childhood This study aimed to improve fine motor skills and self-confidence through the finger painting play method in Group A children at TK Al Hidayah Pangongangan, Madiun City, during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employed Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles, involving six children who had low fine motor skills and self-confidence out of a total of fifteen children. The research procedures included planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis with mastery percentage calculations. The results showed an improvement in children’s fine motor skills, including proper pencil grip, making strokes, and imitating line patterns, as well as an increase in self-confidence, reflected in children’s courage to initiate activities, freely express ideas, and present their artwork. Therefore, the finger painting play method is effective in improving fine motor skills and self-confidence of Group A children at TK Al Hidayah Pangongangan, Madiun City.
