Abstract
This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of the think talk write model assisted by image media can improve the descriptive writing skills of grade V students of SDN Kabunan, Balen District, Bojonegoro Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of grade IV students of SDN Kabunan, Balen District, Bojonegoro Regency in learning to write descriptions using the think talk write model assisted by image media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of thIIis study are (1) the use of the Think Talk Write learning model assisted by image media in learning to write descriptions can improve the descriptive writing skills of grade IV students of SDN Kabunan, Balen District, Bojonegoro Regency. The improvement in the process is seen in the aspects of student attention and enthusiasm in the lesson, the aspect of student activeness in asking and answering questions, and the aspect of student activeness in doing assignments. The improvement occurred gradually starting from the pre-action, cycle I, to cycle II, and (2) student learning outcomes increased. In the pre-action, the average student score was 67.85 with only 3 students experiencing completion. In cycle I, the average score was 76 with 18 students achieving completion, and in cycle II, the average score was 80.57 with 28 students achieving completion above 75. This increase in score shows that the implementation of actions from cycle I and cycle II was able to improve students' ability to write descriptions.
