Keywords: Writing, Description, and Poster Media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the use of poster media can improve the descriptive writing skills of class V students of SDN 2 Jaan, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of class V students of SDN 2 Jaan, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write descriptions using poster media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The conclusion of this study is (1) the use of poster media can improve the descriptive writing skills of class V students of SDN 2 Jaan, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency. This is evidenced by the increased activity, attention and concentration, as well as interest and motivation of students in the learning process. In addition, the shortcomings encountered in cycle I can be overcome well by the teacher in cycle II. In cycle II students are more active during the learning process, students pay more attention to the teacher's explanation and have high motivation in learning, and (2) the learning outcomes of class V students of SDN 2 Jaan, Gondang District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write descriptions using poster media have increased. In cycle I, 18 students (47%) completed it with an average score of 68. In cycle II, 38 students (100%) completed it with an average score of 94.
