Abstract
Ratna Wijayanti. 2025. The Implementation of the Role-Playing Method and the Optimization of TPACK in Indonesian Speaking Learning for Fifth Grade Students at SDN 1 Dadapan, Ngronggot District, Nganjuk Regency. Thesis. Madiun: Master’s Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Graduate School, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (1). Dr. Lulus Irawati, S.S.,M.Pd. (2). Dwi Rosita Sari, P.hD. Keywords: Role-Playing, TPACK, Speaking Learning, Indonesian Language This research aims to describe the implementation of the role-playing method and the optimization of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) in Indonesian speaking learning for fifth grade students at SDN 1 Dadapan, Ngronggot District, Nganjuk Regency; to identify the problems that arise during its implementation; and to explain the teacher’s follow-up actions in overcoming those problems. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the implementation of the role-playing method based on TPACK can improve students’ activeness, self-confidence, and speaking skills. The integration of technological, pedagogical, and content elements made the learning process more interactive and meaningful. The problems found during the implementation included limited time allocation, differences in students’ confidence levels, and inadequate technological facilities in elementary schools. The teacher followed up on these problems by adjusting the time allocation, reorganizing student groups, providing individual guidance, and utilizing simple digital media to support reflection on learning outcomes. It can be concluded that the role-playing method based on TPACK is an effective and adaptive learning strategy to improve the speaking skills of elementary school students. Furthermore, the implementation of this method also fosters social, collaborative, and reflective attitudes, which are in line with the objectives of Indonesian language learning in shaping communicative, creative, and character-oriented learners.
