Improving Listening Skills in Fairy Tales Using Paired Storytelling Model Assisted by Cartoon Puppet Media for Class II Students of SDN 1 Jogomerto, Tanjunganom District, Nganjuk Regency. Theses. Keywords: listening, fairy tales, paired storytelling models, and cartoon puppet media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of the paired storytelling model with cartoon puppet media can improve learning to listen to fairy tales for class II students of SDN 1 Jogomerto, Tanjunganom District, Nganjuk Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of class II students of SDN 1 Jogomerto, Tanjunganom District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to listen to fairy tales using the paired storytelling model with cartoon puppet media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) the application of the paired storytelling model with cartoon puppet media can improve learning to listen to fairy tales for class II students of SDN 1 Jogomerto, Tanjunganom District, Nganjuk Regency. This is evidenced by the observation of teacher activities obtaining a score of 35 with a percentage of 87.5% (very good criteria). Observation of student activities obtained an average score of 24.38 with a percentage of 87.33% (very good criteria), and (2) the learning outcomes of class II students of SDN 1 Jogomerto, Tanjunganom District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to listen to fairy tales using the paired storytelling model with cartoon puppet media have increased. This is indicated by an increase in learning outcomes in cycle I, the first meeting obtained an average value of 67.27 with learning completion of 59.10%, and in the second meeting obtained an average of 70.9 with learning completion of 68.2%. Then in cycle II, the first meeting obtained an average value of 73.8 with completion of 77.3%, and the second meeting obtained an average value of 85.4 with completion of 90.9%.
