Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Google Slides, as well as to identify its strengths and challenges in teaching students to write observation report texts based on the school environment. The research was conducted with fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Panunggalan I Sugihwaras, Bojonegoro Regency, involving 10 students, during the period of July to November 2025. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The PBL model was implemented through several stages, including problem orientation, organizing students for learning, investigation, developing and presenting work, and evaluation. Google Slides was used as a visual learning medium to present problems, learning steps, and guidelines for writing observation reports. The results indicate that the implementation of PBL assisted by Google Slides enhances students’ learning activeness, facilitates understanding of the structure of observation report texts, and increases students’ motivation and collaboration in writing activities. The advantages of this model include more contextual, active, and meaningful learning experiences. However, some challenges were identified, such as limited instructional time, differences in students’ writing abilities, and the need for more intensive classroom management. Overall, the PBL model assisted by Google Slides is effective for teaching observation report writing at the elementary school level.
