Pembimbing (1) Dr. Nurhadji Nugraha,S.Pd,.M.M (2) Dr. Yudi Hartono, M.Pd Kata Kunci : Persepsi Guru, Motivasi Guru, PAUD,Profesi Pendidik Persepsi dan motovasi guru terhadap profesinya akan sangat menentukan dalam proses belajar-mengajar khususnya di lembaga PAUD. Jika seorang guru memiliki persepsi dan motivasi positif terhadap profesinya sebagai pendidik, maka akan muncul rasa bangga dan tanggung jawab yang tinggi, yang pada akhirnya berdampak pada kualitas pendidikan yang diberikan kepada peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis persepsi dan motivasi guru PAUD di Kecamatan Babadan Kabupaten Ponorogo terhadap profesi sebagai pendidik serta faktor yang mempengaruhnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Babadan, Kabupaten Ponorogo, Provinsi Jawa Timur. penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April tahun 2025. Peneliti menggunakan Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, kuesioner, dan observasi untuk memperoleh data mengenai persepsi dan motivasi guru PAUD sebagai profesi pendidik. Data yang diperoleh kemudian disajikan dengan menggunakan Analisis Interactive Model yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi guru PAUD di Kecamatan Babadan Kabupaten Ponorogo terhadap profesi pendidik bersifat positif dan konstruktif, profesi guru dimaknai sebagai bentuk pengabdian moral, sosial, dan spiritual dalam membentuk karakter serta kecerdasan anak usia dini. Persepsi tersebut dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal, seperti pengalaman, latar belakang pendidikan, nilai moral, dan keyakinan spiritual, serta faktor eksternal berupa dukungan kepala sekolah, lingkungan kerja, apresiasi masyarakat, dan kebijakan pemerintah. Selain itu, motivasi guru PAUD dalam menjalankan profesinya bersumber dari motivasi intrinsik dan ekstrinsik yang saling melengkapi. Motivasi intrinsik muncul dari rasa cinta terhadap anak dan kepuasan batin atas perkembangan peserta didik, sedangkan motivasi ekstrinsik didukung oleh lingkungan kerja yang kondusif, apresiasi, serta kesempatan pengembangan profesional. Kombinasi faktor-faktor tersebut memperkuat komitmen dan dedikasi guru PAUD dalam melaksanakan tugas meskipun dihadapkan pada berbagai keterbatasan. ABSTRACT Sri Widyastuti. 2025. Dr. Yudi Hartono, M.Pd Keywords: Teachers’ Perceptions, Teachers’ Motivation, PAUD, Teaching Profession Teachers’ perceptions and motivation toward their profession play a crucial role in the teaching and learning process, particularly in early childhood education institutions. When teachers possess positive perceptions and strong motivation toward their profession as educators, a sense of pride and high responsibility emerges, which ultimately influences the quality of education provided to learners. This study aims to describe and analyze the perceptions and motivation of early childhood education (PAUD) teachers in Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency, toward the teaching profession, as well as the factors influencing them. This research employed a qualitative research approach and was conducted in Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency, East Java Province, in April 2025. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and observations to obtain information regarding teachers’ perceptions and motivation toward the teaching profession. The collected data were analyzed using the Interactive Model of data analysis, which includes data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings indicate that PAUD teachers in Babadan District, Ponorogo Regency, hold positive and constructive perceptions of the teaching profession, which is understood as a form of moral, social, and spiritual dedication in shaping the character and intelligence of young children. These perceptions are influenced by internal factors, such as teaching experience, educational background, moral values, and spiritual beliefs, as well as external factors, including principals’ support, work environment, community appreciation, and government policies. Furthermore, teachers’ motivation in carrying out their professional duties arises from complementary intrinsic and extrinsic motivations. Intrinsic motivation stems from teachers’ affection for children and inner satisfaction derived from students’ development, while extrinsic motivation is supported by a conducive work environment, recognition, and opportunities for professional development. The combination of these factors strengthens teachers’ commitment and dedication in performing their duties despite various limitations.
