Abstract

This research aims to describe and explain (1) the recitation method can improve the poetry writing ability of fifth grade students at SDN Panunggalan II, Sugihwaras District, Bojonegoro Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SDN Panunggalan II, Sugihwaras District, Bojonegoro Regency in learning to write poetry using the method. recitation. This research is classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this research are (1) the recitation method can improve the poetry writing ability of fifth grade students at SDN Panunggalan II, Sugihwaras District, Bojonegoro Regency. This is done through 5 stages, namely observe, ask, try, associate, and communicate. Learning using the recitation method in thematic learning, especially in the Indonesian language field, emphasizes the process of searching and finding. The learning material is given directly because the student's role is to search and discover for themselves, while the teacher acts as a facilitator and guide for students to learn. (2) Student learning results in the pre-cycle stage explained that the overall average student score was 60.92 (20%) then in the first cycle the average student score was from 65.8 (32.32%) to 68.2 (56.36%), in cycle II from 72.2 (44.44%) to 78.2 (80%).
