Keywords: writing, narrative, project based learning models, and natural media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of project based learning model assisted by natural environment media can improve narrative writing skills in fifth grade students of Mlaten 1 State Elementary School, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of Mlaten 1 State Elementary School,, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency in narrative writing learning using Project Based Learning model assisted by natural environment media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are (1) the application of project based learning model assisted by natural environment media can improve narrative writing skills in fifth grade students of Mlaten 1 State Elementary School, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency, there is an increase. This is evidenced by the results of student observations in cycle I, namely 97% of students were present during the learning process; 86% of students paid attention to the teacher's explanation; 39% of students actively asked questions and expressed their opinions; 53% of students were able to work together with their group members; 53% of students were responsible for doing assignments; 72% of students were able to compose narratives; Students completed the assignments on time by 72%; Students were able to draw conclusions on what had been learned by 56%; and Students who did other activities during the learning process (noisy, playing, disturbing friends, going in and out of class) by 11%. The results of student observations in cycle II were that 100% of students were present during the learning process; 97% of students paid attention to the teacher's explanation; 75% of students actively asked questions and expressed their opinions; 89% of students were able to work together with their group members; 92% of students were responsible for doing assignments; 92% of students were able to compose narratives; 97% of students completed assignments on time; 92% of students were able to draw conclusions on what had been learned; and students who do other activities during the learning process (noisy, playing, disturbing friends, going in and out of class) by 0.9%, and (2) the learning outcomes of class V students of Mlaten 1 State Elementary School, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency in learning to write narratives using the Project Based Learning model assisted by natural media have increased. This is evidenced by the average score of student learning outcomes in cycle I of 66. In cycle II, the average score of student learning outcomes has increased to 87.
