Keywords: learning, speaking, and realia media This study aims to describe and explain (1) the application of speaking skills learning using realia learning media for fourth grade students of SDN 1 Banaran, Kertosono District, Nganjuk Regency and (2) student learning outcomes in speaking skills learning using realia learning media for fourth grade students of SDN 1 Banaran, Kertosono District, Nganjuk Regency. This study is a classroom action research using two cycles. The results of this study are (1) realia media is very effective for use in efforts to improve speaking skills in fourth grade students of SDN 1 Banaran, Kertosono District, Nganjuk Regency. This is done to help students improve their speaking skills by implementing active student learning strategies, namely the demonstration method. The application of the demonstration method assisted by realia media is an appropriate method used in learning with the aim of providing skills, reducing the use of monotonous language, and helping students to make it easier to understand clearly about a process or activity because it is presented in the form of a demonstration and uses concrete objects so that it is more interesting and efficient, and (2) student learning outcomes according to the data in the research results state that 5 students or 84% of the total number of 6 students have completed the learning, while students who have not completed the learning are 1 student or 16% of the total number of 6 students. This shows that the learning that has been implemented is good. The average value of students is also 82.11% which reaches the KKM value of ≥70. So the researcher assumes that improving speaking skills using realia media in grade IV students of SDN 1 Banaran, Kertosono District, Nganjuk Regency in cycle II resulted in a significant increase and it can be said that this action has been successful.
