Alfina, M. Huda. 2025. Improving the Ability to Compose Paragraphs Using Serial Picture Media for 6th Grade Students of SDN Wadang I Bojonegoro. Thesis. Master Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Postgraduate School of PGRI Madiun University. Supervisors (I) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hanif, M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Sigit Ricahyono, S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: paragraph writing skills, serial picture media, elementary school. This study aims to improve students’ paragraph writing skills through the use of serial picture media among sixth-grade students at SDN Wadang I Bojonegoro. The background of this research is based on students’ low ability to compose coherent and cohesive paragraphs, which is indicated by unclear main ideas, weak sentence connections, and low motivation in writing activities. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 10 sixth-grade students of SDN Wadang I Bojonegoro. Data were collected through paragraph writing tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative techniques. The results indicate that the use of serial picture media significantly improves students’ paragraph writing skills. Improvements are shown in students’ ability to identify main ideas, develop supporting sentences systematically, and create coherence within paragraphs. In addition, the use of serial picture media enhances students’ participation and motivation in writing activities.
