Abstract

Marsidah, 2025. Improving Environmental Care and Science Learning Outcomes Through the Project-Based Learning Model in Fourth-Grade Students of SDN 01 Tawngrejo, Madiun City. Thesis. Madiun: Social Sciences Education Study Program, Master's Program, Postgraduate Program, Universitas PGRI Madiun. Supervisors: (I) Dr. Drs. Muhammad Hanif, M.M.M.Pd, (II) Prof. Dr. H. Parji, M.Pd. Keywords: Environmentally Caring Character, Learning Outcomes, Project-Based Learning Model. This study aims to enhance environmental care character and science (IPAS) learning outcomes among fourth-grade students at SDN 01 Tawangrejo, Madiun City, through the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PJBL) model. The background of the research is the low level of both aspects, with classical mastery below the Minimum Mastery Criteria and a teacher-centered learning process. The subjects of the study were 25 students. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles (planning, action, observation, reflection). Data were collected through evaluation sheets (learning outcomes) and observation (environmental care character), analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results indicate a significant improvement. The environmental care character increased from an average of 44 (16% mastery) in the pre-cycle, to 65.44 (48%) in Cycle I, and reached 83 (92%) in Cycle II. IPAS learning outcomes improved from an average of 50 to 69 (56% mastery) in Cycle I, and reached 87 (92% mastery) in Cycle II. In conclusion, the implementation of the PJBL model on the topic "How Do I Fulfill My Needs? (Environmental Care in Fulfilling Needs)" proved effective in improving the environmental care character and IPAS learning outcomes of fourth-grade students.
