Abstract
ABSTRACT Lilik Budiarti. 2025. Integration of Educational Games with Card Media in Indonesian Language Learning for Grade III Students at SD Negeri 2 Dongko, Dongko District, Trenggalek Regency.Thesis. Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. PGRI Postgraduate School, University of Madiun (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, SS, M.Pd. Keywords: educational games, card media, Indonesian language learning, elementary school. This study aims to describe the process of integrating educational games using card media in Indonesian language learning, students’ responses to the use of card-based educational games, and the obstacles encountered in their implementation for third-grade students at SD Negeri 2 Dongko, Dongko District, Trenggalek Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects were the teacher and third-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Dongko. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the integration of educational games using card media was carried out through the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation, which were aligned with the objectives of Indonesian language learning and the characteristics of elementary school students. The use of card-based educational games created an active, enjoyable, and student-centered learning atmosphere. Students’ responses to the learning process were positive in cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Cognitively, students found it easier to understand the learning material, particularly in vocabulary mastery and simple sentence construction. Affectively, students showed high enthusiasm and learning motivation. Psychomotor-wise, students were actively involved in game activities that developed fine motor skills and cooperation. The obstacles encountered included limited time, facilities, and differences in students’ characteristics; however, these obstacles could be addressed through proper planning and effective classroom management. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the integration of educational games using card media can serve as an effective alternative learning strategy to enhance the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.
