Abstract
Muhnianto. 2025. Improving the Ability to Develop Ideas into Sentences Through Linking Daily Experiences of Fourth Grade Students of SD Negeri 6 Dongko, Dongko District, Trenggalek Regency. Thesis. Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program. PGRI Postgraduate School, University of Madiun (UNIPMA). Supervisor I: Dr. Supri Wahyudi Utomo, M.Pd., Supervisor II: Dr. Dwi Rohman Soleh, SS, M.Pd. Keywords: daily life experiences, idea development, sentence writing, Indonesian language learning, classroom action research This study aims to improve students’ ability to develop ideas into sentences through the integration of daily life experiences of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 6 Dongko, Dongko District, Trenggalek Regency. The background of this study is the low ability of students to identify ideas, develop ideas orally, and express them in written sentences in Indonesian language learning. This research employed a classroom action research (CAR) design using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research subjects consisted of 17 fourth-grade students, with the classroom teacher acting as a collaborator. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection techniques included observation, writing tests, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods by comparing the results of the pre-action stage, Cycle I, and Cycle II based on the performance indicators. The results showed that learning activities integrating students’ daily life experiences significantly improved their ability to develop ideas into sentences. This improvement was indicated by an increase in the class average scores and learning mastery. In the pre-action stage, learning mastery reached 29.41% with an average score of 65.12. In Cycle I, learning mastery increased to 52.94% with an average score of 71.24. In Cycle II, learning mastery reached 82.35% with an average score of 79.82, meeting the established performance indicators. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that integrating students’ daily life experiences into Indonesian language learning is effective in improving students’ ability to develop ideas into sentences. This approach makes the writing process more contextual, meaningful, and student-centered
