Abstract

This research is titled "Analysis of Moral Values in the Novel Pulang by Leila S. Chudori as Indonesian Language Teaching Materials for Grade XII in the 2025/2026 Academic Year." The objectives of this study are: (1) to describe the forms of moral values contained in the novel Pulang*; (2) to describe the relevance of the moral value analysis as an alternative for Indonesian language teaching materials at the high school level.* The research method employed is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis technique. The approach used is an ethical/moral approach focusing on the relationship between humans and themselves, humans and others, and humans and God. The primary data source is the novel Pulang by Leila S. Chudori, while the research data consist of words, phrases, and sentences representing moral values. Data collection techniques involve library research, attentive reading, and note-taking. The results of the study indicate that the novel Pulang contains strong moral values, including: (1) individual moral values (honesty, responsibility, and fortitude); (2) social moral values (solidarity, kinship, and sacrifice); and (3) religious moral values (submission to God). Based on curriculum analysis, this novel is relevant to be used as teaching material for Grade XII Indonesian language in the 2025/2026 academic year, specifically for novel appreciation materials, due to its high-quality literary style and moral messages that foster student character building in understanding history and humanity.
