Abstract

Communication fluency and group cooperation skills are essential aspects of early childhood social development that need to be stimulated through meaningful play-based activities. However, initial observations in Group B at Al-Hidayah Plus Kindergarten, Madiun City, indicated that children’s communication fluency and cooperation had not yet developed optimally. This condition was reflected in limited peer interaction, difficulties in expressing ideas, and low participation in group activities. This study aimed to improve students’ communication fluency and group cooperation through the implementation of cooperative Lego-building games. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles, involving 16 children from Group B at Al-Hidayah Plus Kindergarten, Madiun City. Each cycle consisted of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through observation and documentation using child development assessment sheets. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed an improvement in students’ communication fluency and group cooperation in each cycle. In Cycle I, children began to demonstrate confidence in communication and engagement in group work, although inconsistently. In Cycle II, most children were able to communicate fluently, cooperate effectively, and demonstrate responsibility toward group tasks. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of cooperative Lego-building games is effective in improving communication fluency and group cooperation among Group B students at Al-Hidayah Plus Kindergarten, Madiun City.
