Abstract
The background of this research is that in general, the creative and independent character of students in group B2 of Tunas Rimba Madiun Kindergarten is not optimal. Character learning in Tunas Rimba Madiun Kindergarten is currently still carried out conventionally, namely through the delivery of values verbally, instructionally, and in a one-way manner. Teachers tend to be the center of information without providing enough space for children to experience, explore, and reflect on these values in real life in everyday life. This study aims to (1) describe the implementation of the cooperative learning model of the investigation group type in improving the creative and independent character of students in group B2 of Tunas Rimba Madiun Kindergarten, (2) describe and analyze the use of the cooperative learning model of the investigation group type to improve the creative character of children in group B2 of Tunas Rimba Madiun Kindergarten, (3) describe and analyze the use of the cooperative learning model of the investigation group type to improve the independent character of children in group B2 of Tunas Rimba Madiun Kindergarten. This research uses a qualitative approach with Classroom Action Research (CAR). Classroom Action Research was conducted in two cycles, consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted from April 2025 to September 2025. Data collection techniques used were observation and documentation. The results of the research indicate that the creative and independent character of students in group B2 of Tunas Rimba Kindergarten, Madiun, can be improved through the cooperative learning model of the investigation group type. The creative character was at a percentage of 55% and increased to 80% in cycle II. Meanwhile, the independent character in cycle I had a percentage of 58% and increased to 87% in cycle II. Thus, the achievement of completeness is in accordance with the performance indicator of 80%. The cooperative learning model of the investigation group type can improve the creative and independent character of students in group B2 of Tunas Rimba Kindergarten, Madiun.
