Improving Poetry Writing Skills Using Outdoor Learning Methods Assisted by Visual Media for Fourth Grade Students of Sugihwaras III Elementary School, Ngraho District, Bojonegoro Regency. Thesis. Madiun: Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Graduate School of PGRI Madiun University. Supervisors (I) Prof. Dr. Bambang Eko Hari Cahyono, M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Agung Nasrulloh Saputro, M.Pd. Keywords: writing poetry, outdoor learning methods, and visual media This study aims to describe and explain the improvement in poetry writing skills and learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at Sugihwaras III Elementary School, Ngraho District, Bojonegoro Regency, through the implementation of the outdoor learning method assisted by visual media. This research employed classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 21 fourth-grade students of Sugihwaras III Elementary School. Data were collected through observations of teacher activities, student activities, and poetry writing achievement tests. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the outdoor learning method assisted by visual media was able to improve student activities and poetry writing skills. In Cycle I, student activity was categorized as moderate, as shown by attendance (98%), attention to the teacher’s explanation (86%), activeness in asking questions and expressing opinions (38%), group cooperation (55%), responsibility in completing tasks (52%), and poetry composition skills (71%). In Cycle II, student activity increased significantly, with attendance reaching 100%, attention 98%, activeness 76%, cooperation 90%, responsibility 90%, and poetry writing skills 90%, accompanied by a decrease in off-task activities. Student learning outcomes also improved, with the average score increasing from 65 in Cycle I to 95 in Cycle II. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the outdoor learning method assisted by visual media is effective in improving poetry writing skills and student learning outcomes. As a follow-up, teachers are encouraged to apply this method consistently and adapt it to other language learning materials. Future research is recommended to examine its long-term impact and implementation at different educational levels and school contexts.
