Abstract
The aims of this research are (1) to describe the application of Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) assisted by the Google Sites application in learning to write descriptive text for grade 5 students at SD Negeri 4 Sumberurip, and (2) to describe the improvement in the ability to write descriptive text through the application of Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) assisted by the Google Sites application in learning to write descriptive text for grade 5 students at SD Negeri 4 Sumberurip. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research which is carried out in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 20 fifth grade students at SD Negeri 4 Sumberurip, consisting of 10 male and 10 female students. The data in this research are the results of observing teacher activities and students' descriptive text writing skills. Data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, interviews and tests. The research results after implementing the TaRL approach with the help of the Google Sites application showed a good impact. This is evident from the increase from cycle I to cycle II. The average teacher activity component score in cycle I was 77% to 92.24% in cycle II. The increase from cycle I to cycle II was 15.24%. The average percentage of student completion in cycle I was 35% to 75% in cycle II. The increase from cycle I to cycle II was 40%. Thus, it is concluded that the application of the TaRL approach assisted by the Google Sites application can improve the descriptive text writing skills of class V students at SD Negeri 4 Sumberurip, Berbek District, Nganjuk Regency.
