Keywords: learning, writing, poetry, and image media This research aims to describe and explain (1) the application of image media can improve the learning of writing poetry for class IV students at SDN 4 Kuncir, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency and (2) the learning outcomes of class IV students at SDN 4 Kuncir, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write poetry using media. picture. This research is classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this research are (1) the application of image media can improve the learning of writing poetry for class IV students at SDN 4 Kuncir, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency. This is proven by the teacher providing apperception and motivation, providing explanations to students about poetry, showing image media, exploring students' initial knowledge by asking and answering questions related to images, explaining images, providing guidance to students, and providing evaluations on writing poetry. This increase can be seen from the students' seriousness in learning to write poetry, enthusiasm in expressing their ideas, enthusiasm/high interest in writing poetry, actively participating in discussions, feeling motivated, interested and competing with each other in writing poetry, and (2) the learning outcomes of grade IV SDN students 4 Kuncir, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency, in learning to write poetry using image media, it can be seen from the students' average score increasing from the initial condition with the sufficient category (58.05) to the adequate category (67.5) in the first cycle and into the good category (77.22) in cycle II.
