Improving Descriptive Writing Skills Using the Writing Chain Method Assisted by Visual Media in Fifth Grade Students of SD Negeri 2 Genjeng, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency. Thesis. Keywords: writing, description, chain writing, and visual media This study aims to describe (1) the application of the writing chain method assisted by visual media can improve writing learning in fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Genjeng, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Genjeng, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency in learning to write using the writing chain method assisted by visual media. This study is a classroom action research with two research cycles. The results of this study are: (1) the application of the descriptive writing method can improve writing learning in fifth grade students of SD Negeri 2 Genjeng, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency. This is proven in the second cycle, students are more active during the learning process, students pay attention to the teacher's explanation and have high enthusiasm and motivation in learning. The focus, activeness and enthusiasm of students are increased because the teacher explains the material in an interesting way. The teacher explains the material while giving games to students and giving jokes so that the classroom atmosphere is not tense and students are not tense in learning so that students are more enthusiastic about learning, and (2) the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 2 Genjeng, Loceret District, Nganjuk Regency, in learning to write using the writing chain method assisted by visual media have increased. This is indicated by the fact that in cycle I, out of 6 students or 25% of students achieved learning mastery, while in cycle II, 22 students or 91.6% of students achieved learning mastery and classical learning mastery was achieved. The average value of cycle 1 was 52.21, categorized as incomplete. Meanwhile, in cycle 2, the average value was 84.71, categorized as complete.
