D Keywords: assessment, authenticity, and reading skills This research aims to (1) describe and explain the application of authentic assessment in learning reading skills at SDN 2 Ngetos, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency, (2) describe and explain the responses of teachers and students to the application of authentic assessment in learning reading skills at SDN 2 Ngetos, Ngetos District Nganjuk Regency, and (3) describe and explain student learning outcomes regarding the application of authentic assessment in learning reading skills at SDN 2 Ngetos, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The technique used to analyze data in this research is the interactive model from Miles and Huberman. The results of this research are (1) the implementation of authentic assessment in learning reading skills for grade 1 students at SDN 2 Ngetos, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency, was completed based on the results of observations and interviews because during the learning process the students were enthusiastic in following the lesson, (2) the responses of teachers and students The authentic assessment of reading skills learning for grade 1 students at SDN 2 Ngetos, Ngetos District, Nganjuk Regency was successful, because it can make it easier for teachers to carry out learning evaluations and learning in the classroom to be effective, and (3) student learning outcomes It is known that the completion of learning or Indonesian KKM for reading material using authentic assessment is successful because most of the scores are above the KKM. There were 2 students who had not completed their studies or 11.11% (obtained scores < KKM), while 6 students who had completed their studies or 88.89% (obtained scores > KKM).
