Abstract

This study investigates: (1) the effect of bilingual parenting patterns on the vocabulary mastery of fourth grade students at public elementary schools in Kecamatan Sawahan, Kabupaten Nganjuk; (2) the effect of verbal-linguistic intelligence on their vocabulary mastery; and (3) the interaction between bilingual parenting patterns and verbal-linguistic intelligence in relation to vocabulary mastery. The study employed a quantitative quasi-experimental method, and the data obtained were analyzed using two-way ANOVA. The results reveal that: (1) bilingual parenting patterns significantly influence vocabulary mastery; (2) verbal-linguistic intelligence also provides a significant contribution to vocabulary mastery; and (3) an interaction exists between bilingual parenting patterns and verbal-linguistic intelligence that jointly affects the vocabulary mastery of fourth grade students in Kecamatan Sawahan, Kabupaten Nganjuk.
