Abstract

ABSTRACT Budiman Amirul Muchminin: Economic Analysis of the Cost of Using an On-Grid System at Jasa Marga Ngawi–Kertosono Office The On-Grid Solar Power Plant (PLTS) is one of the key solutions in addressing the fossil energy crisis and the rising electricity costs in the office sector. This study aims to analyze the economic aspects of using the On-Grid PLTS system at the Jasa Marga Ngawi–Kertosono Office, including its contribution to energy efficiency and the estimated cost savings achieved. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method with an analytical approach based on energy consumption and electricity billing data from February to July, as well as PLTS energy production data throughout 2024. The analysis involves calculating annual energy consumption, the PLTS contribution to the office’s electricity demand, and the estimated cost savings and payback period for the 12 kWp On-Grid PLTS investment. The results show that prior to the installation of the On-Grid PLTS, the Jasa Marga Ngawi–Kertosono Office relied entirely on PLN electricity, resulting in high energy consumption and significant costs. After implementation, electricity consumption decreased by 11.53%, and cost efficiency improved by 20.86%. The PLTS system supplied approximately 22.23% of the annual energy demand, with an estimated annual cost saving of IDR 21.6 million. With an investment value ranging from IDR 120–150 million, the payback period is achieved within 5–7 years, making the project economically feasible and supportive of a sustainable energy transition. Based on these findings, the On-Grid PLTS system provides a tangible contribution to reducing conventional grid energy consumption while significantly improving operational cost efficiency. The implementation of PLTS not only has a positive environmental impact but also strengthens the institution’s economic performance. Therefore, the PLTS system is a strategic and viable solution to promote energy efficiency and accelerate the transition toward renewable energy in the workplace.
