Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Mofisfun (Fun Physics Monopoly) and Flashcard media in implementing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on high school students' physics learning outcomes in terms of initial abilities. The study was conducted at SMA Negeri 4 Madiun in the 2024/2025 academic year with a sample of 72 class X students divided into two experimental groups. The research method used a quasi-experimental design with a 2 × 2 factorial. Initial ability data were obtained from daily test scores, while student learning outcomes were measured through cognitive tests ( pretest and posttest ) on work and energy material. The results showed that the average learning outcomes of students using Mofisfun media were 74.58, while students using Flashcard reached 75.69. Hypothesis testing with two-way ANOVA tested three main hypotheses. First, there was no difference in the effect of Mofisfun and Flashcard media on learning outcomes (sig. = 0.514 > 0.05). Second, there is no difference in learning outcomes between students with high and low initial abilities (sig. = 0.326 > 0.05), although students with high initial abilities tend to have slightly better averages. Third, there is no interaction effect between media type and initial abilities on learning outcomes (sig. = 0.897 > 0.05). Thus, the null hypothesis ( H_0)\ is accepted in all three tests. Although there is no significant difference cognitively, the observation results show that Mofisfun is more able to encourage active participation, form critical attitudes, and create a fun learning atmosphere, while Flashcard is slightly superior in group collaboration. Therefore, it can be concluded that both media are equally effective in improving learning outcomes, but Mofisfun contributes more to students' affective and psychomotor aspects.
