Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), Social Influence, and Lifestyle towards iPhone purchase decisions, with purchase intention as an intervening variable, among college students in Madiun City. The iPhone purchase phenomenon is driven not only by functional needs but also by psychological and social factors. The research method used a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique for 384 respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 4.0. The results show that FoMO, Social Influence, and Lifestyle have a positive and significant effect towards purchase intention and decisions. Purchase intention is also shown to mediate the relationship between the three independent variables and purchase decisions. In conclusion, psychological and social factors play an important role in shaping college student consumer behavior. Suggestions for further research include exploring other variables such as price or promotions. These findings are important for marketers in designing strategies based on emotions and social influence.
