Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of profitability, liquidity, solvency, and company size towards financial distress in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2020–2024 period. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 200 companies. This study employed a quantitative approach using SPSS version 20 analysis tools. The data source was secondary data obtained from the companies' annual financial reports. Documentation was used as the data collection technique, and logistic regression with the Zmijewski model was used for data analysis. The results show that profitability has a significant negative effect towards financial distress, liquidity and solvency have a significant positive effect, while company size has no significant effect. Thus, financial ratios have been shown to be an early detection tool for the risk of financial distress in manufacturing companies.
