Tesis. Program Magister Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, Sekolah Pascasarjana Universitas PGRI Madiun. Pembimbing (I) Dr. V. Teguh Suharto, M.Pd.; (II) Dr. Lulus Irawati, S.S., M.Pd. Abstract: This research aims to analyze the values of the characters contained in the novel Laskar Pelangi by Andrea Hirata as well as explore its potential as an Indonesian language teaching material for upper-class students in Baosan Kidul State Primary School 7. The research used a qualitative approach with a method of content analysis to the text of the novel. The results of the study showed that the Rainbow Warriors embodied a range of character values relevant to the world of education, including hard work, religiousness, responsibility, leadership, friendship, and love of country. These values are in line with the character education goals in primary school and can be integrated into learning Bahasa Indonesia through literacy activities. As such, the novel has great potential as a teaching material that not only improves students' literacy skills, but also instills positive moral values and character.
