Abstract
The purpose of this research is to describe and uncover the grammatical aspects of Ibu Sud's children's song lyrics, to describe and uncover the lexical aspects of Ibu Sud's children's song lyrics, and to describe the use of Ibu Sud's children's song lyrics as literature teaching materials in elementary schools. This research is a descriptive qualitative study using grammatical and lexical meaning analysis in Ibu Sud's children's song lyrics as an alternative teaching material in elementary schools. Grammatical meaning is the meaning formed by linguistic elements. Lexical meaning is the meaning derived from the inner structure of discourse. The data sources in this study were five of Ibu Sud's most popular children's songs among children. The data collection instrument was the researcher using an analysis sheet. The research used content analysis as a data collection technique. Data validity was tested using data triangulation techniques. This research found (1) grammatical aspects in Ibu Sud's five song lyrics, dominated by aspects of reference, substitution, ellipsis, and conjunction. (2) The lexical aspects in the five song lyrics by Mrs. Sud are dominated by repetition (Repetition), synonyms (Synonyms), antonyms (Antonyms) and collocations (Collocations). (3) The lyrics of children's songs by Mrs. Sud were found to be in accordance with the teaching materials in the ATP Indonesian Language phase A – C of the Independent Curriculum for the 2025/2026 academic year.
