Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the error of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri I Kaponan Mlarak Ponorogo in writing descriptions and narratives on Indonesian language lessons in the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu's sociology of Education. Errors in writing descriptions and narratives in these students are the use of capital letters, punctuation points, and the use of prepositions in-.. First, the cause of the error is the lack of thoroughness and hasty behavior of students in writing. However, the researcher wishes also to look at the sociological causes of errors with the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu's sociology of Education. This research method is descriptive qualitative. So, researchers describe qualitatively the occurrence of errors in writing descriptions and narratives in Indonesian lessons in the perspective of Pierre Bourdieu's sociology of Education. The subjects of this study were students of Class V. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques using Miles and Hubermen which includes three things: data reduction, data presentation, and draw conclusions. The result of this study is that students still make mistakes in writing descriptions and narratives. Such errors in the use of capital letters, punctuation periods, and the use of prepositions in-. The error is sociologically caused by the social, economic, and cultural background of the student's parents or family consisting of social, economic and cultural layers of the popular class
