Abstract
To advance a nation, education is a primary need for everyone. Although learning outcomes are expected to be good in all subjects, including English as an international language, students are less interested in English lessons for various reasons, such as difficulty pronouncing words or sentences in English, fear of speaking in front of the class, and lack of media used by teachers. The application of methods and media in learning is very necessary to help students understand the lessons given. The learning method used in this study uses role-playing and word cards. This study uses a classroom action research (CAR) method that aims to improve or enhance learning habits. In the process of this research using two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II, the results of classroom action research on grade 2 students of Grobogan 02 Elementary School showed an increase from the previous 12.5% and 18.75%.
