Keywords: effectiveness, video media, learning outcomes This study aims to describe the effect of using video-assisted learning media on student learning outcomes and its effectiveness compared to conventional learning methods. The study was conducted in class V SDN Mojopurno 01, Wungu District, Madiun Regency with 7 students as subjects. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest one group design. Data collection techniques were carried out through giving initial tests (pretest) and final tests (posttest), as well as observing student learning activities. The results of the study showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the implementation of video-assisted learning media. The average student pretest score of 60.57 increased to 76.86 in the posttest. As many as 6 out of 7 students managed to achieve scores above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM), while in conventional learning only 1 student completed. Qualitatively, the use of video media can also increase student motivation, attention, and involvement in the learning process. The results of the data analysis are supported by the theory that the presentation of information visually and verbally can increase learning effectiveness. Thus, it can be concluded that video-assisted learning media is more effective than conventional methods in improving the learning outcomes of fifth grade students.
