Abstract

ABSTRACT Petrus Miadi Dala. 2025. Moral Values in the Novel Anak Bajang Menggiring Angin by Sindhunata as Teaching Material for Grade VIII Junior High School. Thesis. Madiun: Magister Program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Master's Program, Postgraduate Program, PGRI University of Madiun. Advisor: Dr. Panji Kuncoro Hadi, S.S, M.Pd., Co-Advisor: Dr. Sigit Ricahyoho, S.S, M.Pd. Keywords: Moral Values, Goodness, Love, Trust, Truth, Indonesian Literature The purpose of this research is to describe the forms of moral values in the novel "Anak Bajang Menggiring Angin" by Sindhunata. The research method is qualitative descriptive. The data source is the novel "Anak Bajang Menggiring Angin" by Sindhunata. The data collection techniques are documentation, reading, and note-taking. Data validity techniques include: credibility of research data results, transferability of research results to other situations, dependability through auditing the entire research process, and confirmability by testing research results in relation to the process. The data analysis technique uses content analysis. The research findings show that moral values of goodness in this novel are very prominent through sacrifice for the common good, patience, and steadfastness of heart, often by sacrificing personal interests. Moral values of truth are emphasized through loyalty to dharma despite facing suffering. This novel affirms that truth will triumph over evil. Sincere and sacrificial love, steadfastness, and courage to defend truth will ultimately defeat evil. The most prominent moral value of trust is faith in dharma despite facing trials. This novel teaches that trust in goodness and justice will bring victory even though one must go through suffering. These forms of moral values, including: values of Goodness, Truth, Love, and Trust, can be used at the Junior High School level and can serve as Indonesian language teaching materials for Grade VIII with learning materials about novels, based on Curriculum Objectives, Spiritual Attitude Competency Formulation, Core Competencies (KI) and Basic Competencies (KD) from the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka).
