ABSTRACT Fuaduzzakiawan. 2025. Authentic Assessment Practice in Indonesian Language Learning at MI Muhammadiyah Caruban . Thesis. Master of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Postgraduate Faculty, Universitas PGRI Madiun . Supervisors (I) Dr. V. Teguh Suharto, M.Pd., (II) Panji Kuncoro Hadi , S..,M.Pd. Keywords: Indonesian Language, Authentic Assessment, Elementary Madrasah This study aims to describe and explain the implementation of authentic assessment in Indonesian language subjects at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Caruban in the final period of the learning process. This study uses a qualitative approach, with descriptive methods, and data collection techniques using interviews, observations and documentation. The research location at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Caruban took a sample with 1 key informant. The results of the study showed that educators used various variations of authentic-based learning assessment techniques both in diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments in accordance with the 2013 curriculum policy and the 2024 Merdeka Curriculum. Various reasons were found, including because the assessment technique must be relevant to the variation in characteristics and aspects of the assessment object. These variations include: observation techniques, paper and pencil test techniques, portfolios, homework assignments, quizzes, and group discussions or interviews. Interview techniques are rarely used because they are only used to complete data if there are irregularities in the phenomena found by educators. In the implementation of diagnostic assessment, similar reasons were found because diagnostics can be carried out formally through initial tests and non formally through interviews with previous teachers, looking at report card data, and so on.
