Abstract
This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students on the topic of phase changes of matter at SMP Negeri 1 Sekar. This issue is caused by the lack of engaging learning media and teaching methods that do not sufficiently facilitate active student participation. The purpose of this study was to develop an educational medium in the form of the Domino Physics Card (DOMIKA) that is feasible, engaging, and effective in improving student learning outcomes on the concept of phase changes of matter. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects included material experts, media experts, test instrument experts, and seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Sekar. Data were collected through validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, learning achievement tests (pretest and posttest), as well as documentation and observation. Based on the research findings, the instruments used included material, media, and test validation sheets, along with learning achievement tests (pre-test and post-test). Data were analyzed using Aiken’s V for validation, as well as normality tests, t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The validation results showed that the DOMIKA media obtained a “Highly Feasible” category from material experts (V = 0.96) and media experts (V = 0.97). Effectiveness testing indicated a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, with an average N-Gain score of 0.71 (high category). Therefore, the Domino Physics Card (DOMIKA) was declared feasible and effective for use in teaching phase changes of matter at SMP Negeri 1 Sekar.
